On that day, they unveiled a gameday atmosphere that would become a staple of Texans football games. The first NFL stadium with a retractable roof, Reliant Stadium has earned a reputation as one of the premier big-event venues in American sports, hosting Big 12 Championship games, NCAA Men's Basketball tournaments, the annual Texas Bowl and Super Bowl XXXVIII.
